STRICTLY GLOBAL

Did you know that nilbog spelled backwards is goblin? Oh my gawdy.  (Troll 2, see clip at the end of this blog, and rent it now.) So yeah, it's halloween people!!!  Demented Dawn and Rambo Brite return to bring you the creepiest videos from around the world and the underground (about 6 feet or so.)  And Japan, Canada, and the UK sure know how to get down with that.  We'll also transport into an unknown dimension with an interview from an out of this world electronic noise artist, Sicko.

Kicking off the hour with a video centered around the blood moon and witchery, is the Canadian psychedelic rock group Black Mountain.  They've recently released their 3rd album Wilderness Heart, and are touring North America in support of it, a la now.   When not touring, a few of these dudes help out around their neighborhood through an organization that "meets the basic living requirements of the chronically poor, drug addicted and mentally ill." (Wiki.)  Super sweet.

We'll also check out the latest from British goth-country musician Karen Elson who's had an awesome musical journey alongside a booming modeling career (and kick-ass hubby Jack White.)  This year she released her first album The Ghost Who Walks, containing some songs that she sang/wrote in secret, locked in a bathroom hiding away from White.  Hey, some of the most talented people are also some of the most shyest! Prior to that she's dueted with Cat Power on a Serge Gainsbourg tribute album, and performed with NYC cabaret troupe The Citizens Band, covering songs from the Velvet Underground to Leonard Cohen.  Super cute.
