Something about the music videos this week on Strictly Global hit a film nostalgia chord for me.  There were two films that I watched regularly as a kid- Rubber Tarzan (an odd Danish film about dyslexia and cranes) and the French-Canadian film The Peanut Butter Solution (about ghosts, hair loss, and kidnapping.)  They just don't make "family" films like those anymore- you know; the ones that mess with your head.  Anyway, the point is we've got some great videos from Denmark, France and more including an interview with Canadian electro-pop artists Dragonette!

Underworld
Speaking of cinema flashbacks, we'll be featuring the latest from British electronic artists Underworld, who got major attention in the mid-90s after being featured in one of the coolest movies ever, Trainspotting.  These guys go back, way back, as they've been together since about 1979!  This year they released their 8th studio album Barking, which features videos for every song (always a cool bonus!) They had a few shows in the states recently in support of it- and below is a snippet from their show in DC I managed to get on my broken camera.  (PS- I try to NOT be that person who holds a camera/phone up during entire shows- thus the shortness.) One of the best live shows ever.

Oh No Ono
We'll also check out the awkward coming of age video (that was too racy for our FCC guidelines to air in its true form :( ) from Denmark's psychedelic new-wave alt. pop band Oh No Ono.  Their second album Eggs, was released world-wide earlier this year, and was recorded over a period of 9 months in many different locations, such as churches, factories, beaches and forests.  Most excellent.  They also recently released an EP, Internet Warrior, featuring pretty sweet remixes done by the Depreciation Guild, Four Tet, Caribou, and more.
